Hear Haunted Ghost Stories at the Ararat Lunatic Asylum
Explore exclusive parts of Australia’s largest abandoned lunatic asylum not available on any other tour. This is the most in-depth way to understand the history of Aradale and its haunted past.
Over almost 130 years, the lunatic asylum housed thousands of patients ranging from the criminally insane to those who suffered from mental illness and other conditions. Aradale Mental Hospital saw many deaths in its walls, and after an Ararat ghost tour, you’ll see that some of these patients never really escaped their imprisonment in these hallowed walls.
Aradale Ghost Tour is one of the creepiest ghost tours in Australia. Prepare to be haunted by stories of bizarre history, brutal treatments, amazing personal stories, and of course, lots of ghost stories detailing some of the most infamous people to walk these halls.
The ghost tour travels through the administration building, chapel, kitchen, infirmaries, surgery theaters, morgue and the most intact cell blocks in Australia. Feel like you’ve stepped back in time as you walk through this incredible building. Reported ghost encounters include tickling, strange smells, banging sounds, shadows, and other spooky sensations. Come experience it for yourself.
Tours are limited to 30 people and are led by a team of professional theatrical historians who will help set the stage for this ghostly experience.
